Planning a small engagement dinner in Dubai — photo advice?
Hey everyone! My partner and I are heading to Dubai next month to celebrate our engagement with a few close friends. We aren’t looking for a massive "wedding-style" production, but I really want some decent shots that aren't just blurry iPhone selfies from the table.
Does anyone have experience with hiring someone local for just a couple of hours? I’m a bit worried about the lighting near the Marina at night, and I’d love to find someone who knows the best spots without it feeling like a stiff, staged photoshoot. Any tips on how to find a reliable freelancer who won't break the bank?

I had the same worry when I was there for my sister's baby shower. Dubai is full of "influencer" photographers who charge a fortune but don't really deliver.
To be honest, I just went with the Dubai photographer team after seeing some of their work on a travel blog. I liked that they didn't push those cringey "staged" poses on us. We just walked around the Burj area and they did their thing in the background. It felt way more chill than I expected, and the quality was actually solid for the price. Maybe check if they’re free, but yeah, definitely avoid those big agencies that treat you like a walking wallet.
